About Educational School Tours
Walters’ Pumpkin Patch works diligently to provide the best educational school tours of the farm for a great opportunity to educate young minds. This unique, hands-on tour of our farm will provide your students with the nutrients to learn! Our tour begins with learning from Spookley about being unique and the importance of kindness. October is National Anti-Bully month, Spookley is “Official Spokes-Pumpkin” for National Bullying Prevention Month in October. FREE resources https://spookley.com/resources/
Next the class will ride out into the Pumpkin Fields in our safe-sided wagon to the farm schoolhouse to learn how pumpkins are grown on the farm. It's all about hard work, patience, good weather, picking the right seeds, and a little bit of luck! You will also be introduced to various gourds, squash, and varieties of pumpkins, and the students will find out that not all pumpkins are orange and round. Back by popular demand is our School House Garden! Showcasing how gardening and farming is amazing, but hard work! The scrap gardening education piece is growing this year!
After learning all about pumpkins, each child and parent with paid admission, will be invited to pick their own pumpkin to keep and take home. To further your education here at the Walters Pumpkin Patch, we have education stations set up in our facility for self-guided tours. Please enjoy their educational value too as you run around the farm to see what we offer here.
